Samsung splits foldables into three — but AI value still depends on region

Galaxy Unpacked produced three clearly different foldables, new health-focused watches and Samsung's first everyday AI glasses. The hardware is interesting, but for Finnish buyers regional feature support still matters as much as specifications.

1. The Galaxy Z Fold8 range now has three distinct jobs

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 on 22 July. Fold8 Ultra focuses on an 8-inch workspace, a 200 MP camera and a 5,000 mAh battery; the 201 g Fold8 is the lighter content device, while the 180 g Flip8 brings more tasks to the cover display. Finnish pre-orders are open, but Samsung's advanced Gemini task automation is currently limited to the US and Korea, in US English and Korean.

2. Galaxy Watch9 and Ultra2 put battery and health scores first

Galaxy Watch9 adds the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, a 390 mAh battery and new Samsung Health assessments for training, recovery and heart health. Watch Ultra2 has an 800 mAh battery, up to 5,000 nits of localized peak brightness and diving features due later. Samsung's Finnish campaign lists Watch9 recommended prices of €409–489 depending on model and €749 for Ultra2.

3. Samsung's AI glasses put Gemini in the camera's view

Samsung introduced smart glasses developed with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, combining a camera, Gemini and the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform. The company claims up to nine hours of use and as many as seven extra full charges from the case. Google says the glasses will launch this autumn, but Finnish pricing, availability and the exact feature set have not been announced.
