Bluetooth headphones are connected, but there is no sound

A connection label does not prove that audio is routed to the headphones. Check the output device, mute state, another connected device and the pairing before resetting anything.

Short answer: run these six checks

  1. Try another app and confirm that the app is not muted.
  2. Select the headphones as the audio output in Windows or the phone settings.
  3. Temporarily disconnect other nearby devices that could take the audio.
  4. Check the headphone and phone/PC volume and mute controls.
  5. Close the case, wait, open it and reconnect; also test another source device.
  6. Forget and pair again only after output selection and another device have been ruled out.

Connected does not identify the cause

The same symptom can come from the wrong output, another active connection, an app or the headphones themselves.

Android and iPhone

  1. Android: Settings → Connected devices → Bluetooth. Open the device settings and check that Media audio is on.
  2. iPhone: open Control Centre and choose the AirPlay/audio output; check the app's own output too.
  3. If a watch, car or second phone is nearby, disconnect it briefly for the test.
  4. Do not forget every pairing at once if you do not know the credentials or settings.

Windows

  1. Select the sound icon on the taskbar → audio output → headphones.
  2. Settings → System → Sound: check the output device and app volume levels.
  3. Microsoft notes that updating the Bluetooth driver and restarting can fix connection and audio issues.
  4. A call profile can reduce music quality; end the call and test again.

What not to do

  • Do not install a random Bluetooth driver or ‘audio fixer’.
  • Do not reset the headphones before testing another output and another device.
  • Do not assume the headphones are broken from the connection icon alone.
  • Stop if the battery gets hot, the case is damaged or there is a burnt smell.

When is a guided check worthwhile?

If sound disappears on several devices, the profile keeps changing or there are many pairings, JVS Tuki can review audio outputs and Bluetooth settings without replacing working equipment.
